We are looking to place a very special finished female - DC AFC Miss. Behavin. She is a 9 year old spayed female. Ivy has had a very successful field trial career and has completed her field championship, amateur field championship and conformation titles. Moreso, shes just an amazing and very sweet dog. We are only considering placing her if the perfect home comes along that can offer her more than we can!
She could ABSOLUTELY still field trial. She would be great even if someone wanted to get their feet wet and go learn the sport. Dont let her age fool you - she has more than enough go for walking or horseback trials and to still be very competitive. Regardless, wed love to at least get her into a hunting home as she still very much loves running and finding birds. She is broke steady to wing and shot but I suspect she would love to come a little undone and do some retrieving in her retirement ;) She DOES have a good retrieving instinct but since shes been a trial dog her whole life shes not been allowed the opportunity...intentionally HA!
Shes super stylish on her birds and has excellent bird finding ability. Shes steady to wing and shot and does back - but shes also known to have some naughty moments so shes never been 110%. Shes an easy handing dog and her range adjusts to grounds but is usually 70-120 yards. She can open up nicely on larger grounds and is fiercely competitive so if shes on the ground with another dog she doesnt like to be outdone!
Shes in great health. She had all her health testing (hips, elbows, heart, and eyes) and has Embark DNA testing. Shes been vetted annually including bloodwork/urinalysis/thyroid. She is UTD on all vaccines, was spayed recently and healed up, and has recent bloodwork. All lifetime medical records are available.
She is wonderful with other dogs, cats, kids, and knows no strangers. Shes a very sweet dog and cooperative but still very much has personality and a mischievous side. Shes the worlds best truck buddy and loves car rides, shes quiet and content crated, and is a dog you can take anywhere and do anything to. Shes honestly such a cool dog and has so much to offer.
