Quality white & orange female (will be spayed 9/8) that is started but ready to get experience this fall. Shes lightly started so lacking polish but has the foundation to go hunt!
Roxie is a well bred, quality female who has has been loved meticulously maintained/vetted and a great training start but needs repetition. She was purchased as a field trial prospect and went on the back-burner for some bigger going dogs. We did breed her a few times so she is health tested (OFA good, PennHip(.31/.49) normal elbows, eyes, heart, and patella).
She has the basics and has been on quail and chukar, e-collar conditioned, pattern work, handle, shot over (shot gun) but needs more experience. She has a great nose and will find and point birds but probably needs more bird contact as she hasnt been on the volume of birds that wed like her to have seen at this point. She has a nice soft mouth and natural retrieve. She loves to carry birds but needs more work with bringing them to you - she gets them close but plays a little bit of keep away when she gets within a few steps.
Roxie has exceptional potential - its there genetically and she has enough to go have fun with afield but is going to make started dog type mistakes. She needs time and experience but will be a heck of a dog. Alternatively, if you want a dog just to go have fun with - shes ready to do that now! She is also pretty adjustable in range she shortens up in woods/thicker cover but will open up horseback or on an ATV. Typically shes probably 40-70 in bird fields.
We would NOT consider her housebroken although shes been in the house she would most definitely need a refresher as she wasnt in as much. She is crate trained and also is a clean and quiet dog in a kennel. Dog friendly, kid friendly but we question our trust with her around cats.
Shes VERY, VERY sweet, low energy to be around and super affectionate. Shes good traveling and will be a dog who will warm up quickly and easily in a new home.
