Housebroken, excellent with kids of all ages, and all other dogs. Very easy keeper.
HISTORY - Cali has been on all kinds of birds since 4.5 months old working at least 3 weekends a month / throughout the week.
Strong point, holds until shot, runs hard. Hunts, covers the field, and quarters very well.
Ran competitive field trials and has consistently placed and was top 5 in the womens pointing in 2024.
FLAWS - She could use work with honoring other dogs / working behind other dogs in the field if running in doubles, as I have mainly used her as a single dog. On the retrieve she will bring it all but 5 ft from you. She will hold the birds all day long but sometimes doesnt want to finish the retrieve. Some might not care, but I was a stickler on this as for our competitions she had to bring it to hand.
IDEAL HOME - She wants a job and wants to please. Could be a 1 on 1 dog or in a group as she is part of a working kennel now but due to kennel space and a toddler keeping us busy she is too nice to not get to be the top dog on the string. She needs a firm hand, but not heavy. In a kennel and yard and has not offered to jump fence.
Excellent home is a must as she doesnt have to leave, but would make routine easier for me. She could make someone a nice well rounded dog.
