At River Haven Brittanys our goal is to produce quality bird dogs from some of the best bloodlines that the breed has to offer. We are located in northeastern NC just outside of the town of Hertford. We currently have an outstanding litter of seven AKC registered pups that were born on February 3, 2018. There are 5 males and 2 females available. All of the pups are white/orange. Two of the males appear to be orange roan.

This litter was sired by Blaze’n By You Too, “Deuce” and whelped by Gambler’s Hope’n Time’ll Fly, “Hope”. Both parents are excellent bird dogs and have exceptional pedigrees. We expect these pups to be top-of-the-line hunting dogs, great companions and potential field trial prospects. Please click on Reviews below to read what the owners of our pups from previous litters have to say about their River Haven Brittany.

The Sire: Blaze’n By You Too – “Deuce”
Deuce is a great bird dog with a very impressive pedigree. He is steady on point, backs other dogs on point, is very intelligent, handles easily, and has a great nose. He trained very easily and has a great temperament. He is laid back in the kennel but is all business in the field. He has a very nice “12 o’clock” tail set. His hips are rated by the OFA as “Good”. We acquired Deuce as a pup from J.S. Brittany Kennel in Idaho which is owned by professional trainer/handler Jason Staley. Deuce’s color is white/orange.
Deuce comes from a Futurity Nominated litter by Maxwell’s Outer Limits x Decan’s Uncontained Blaze. He is the cousin of the 2016 National All-Age Champion, NFC FC Roustabout’s Flat Out and GFC FC AFC Sniksoh Spank’s Hank, the winner of the American Brittany Club (ABC) Gun Dog Classic in 2015 and 2016. Deuce’s mother, Decan’s Uncontained Blaze is the daughter of NFC FC Bean’s Blaze (HOF) x CH Decan’s Bitterroot Bridgette. In addition to being a National All-Age Champion and an ABC Hall of Fame inductee, Beans Blaze is one of the all-time top producers of Brittany field trial champions. He has sired 46 Field Champions, 18 Amateur Field Champions and 5 Dual Champions (Field/Show). The Dam: Gambler’s Hope’n Time’ll Fly – “Hope”
Hope is also a fantastic bird dog with an equally impressive pedigree. She has many of the same qualities as Deuce. She is steady on point, very intelligent, trained easily, has a great temperament and also has a 12 o’clock tail set. Hope’s color is orange roan and her hips are OFA “Good”.
Hope is the daughter of DC AFC Hi Point’s Bet’n He’ll Rock x High Hopes Dot’s Original Spice. Gamblers Ace in the Hole produced 2 National Gun Dog Champions (2x NGDC NAGDC DC AFC High Hopes Dark Nite and NGDC DC AFC Hi Point’s Summer Time). He has produced more Dual Champions (Field and Show) than any other sire in the history of the breed. He also produced many other notable dogs that won and placed at the national level including: DC AFC Grand Junction Jake, FC AFC Pale Rider, DC AFC This Gambler’s Fly’n, DC AFC Sweetwater Billy Tucker and FC AFC Gambler’s Eye of the Storm. Hope came to us as a pup from High Hopes Brittany Kennel in Pennsylvania owned by Al and Cindy Cropek. The Cropek’s dogs have won and placed in many National Gun Dog Championships over the past decade or so. In addition to Hope’s grandmother (NGDC High Hope’s Tar’s Dot Com) that was mentioned previously, they have produced two of the all time great Gun Dog Champions:
*2x NGDC NAGDC DC AFC High Hopes Dark Nite - He won the National Gun Dog Championship in 2013 and 2014 and the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship in 2017. He is also a Dual Champion meaning he has also excelled in the conformation/show ring. High Hopes Dark Nite will almost certainly be a Hall of Fame inductee in the future.
*NAGDC FC AFC High Hopes Fly By Nite (HOF) – She was the 2006 National Amateur Gun Dog Champion and was inducted into the American Brittany Club Hall of Fame in 2017. Deuce and Hope have previously produced one litter each. This will be their first litter together. I have received lots of positive feedback from the owners of the pups from both litters. Their pups are now growing into beautiful dogs and are excelling both in the field and as loyal companions. Two of the pups from the previous litters are being groomed for competition in the National Shoot to Retrieve Association (NSTRA). I would expect that a pup from this litter will become both a fine bird dog and your best buddy. These pups will also have the potential to compete in various types of field trials.
If you are interested in one of these exceptionally bred pups, please contact Chuck Cullens at 252-333-6353 or email me at [email protected] The price of the pups is $1000 and a $100 deposit will hold your spot on the waitlist. Picks will be in the order that the deposits are received. The pups come with AKC registration papers, vaccinations records and a written health guarantee. The pups will have their tails docked, dew claws removed and their first shots and wormings will be done.
We accept personal checks and cashier’s checks. Please make checks payable to Chuck Cullens. Please send your deposits to Chuck Cullens, 124 River Haven Dr., Hertford, NC 27944.
