I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Delmar Smith. Although I did not know Delmar well, I was fortunate to meet him a few times at the Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, Tennessee, most recently in 2025. I am grateful to have had those opportunities to meet a man who meant so much to the bird dog community.
The bird dog community has lost a legend, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who knew him and the many people he inspired. His legacy will live on through the stories, traditions, and knowledge shared by those whose lives he touched.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Smith family and everyone mourning his passing. May you find comfort in your memories and in knowing how widely he was respected.
