CAMPFIRE KENNELS

Campfire Kennels trains both Started and Finished English Pointers for the hunter who wants a class bird dog. We typically offer 4 to 5 dogs for sale each year. Each of these dogs receives the full benefit of our 80 plus years of combined training experience. With access to over 1,000 acres of training grounds, our dogs are conditioned to hunt many types of cover.

Started dogs are whoa broke and handle to whistle. They will point and hold birds for the hunter. We start these dogs on pigeons and then progress to liberated quail. Dogs have been exposed to lots of birds at this stage of training.

Finished dogs spend their first season as Shooting Preserve Dogs. They are broke steady to wing and shot and are trained to have a flushing dog put the birds in the air for the gunners. Dogs then progress to wild bird hunting. At this stage they will point, back, and hunt dead birds.

We usually have dogs available at various stages of training. Give us a call to see if we have a dog that may suit your needs.
