0 0 0 0 0Meet Brownie, our started German Shorthaired Pointer male at 1.5 years old—
A young dog in the ideal stage of development for hunters who want maturity, manners, and proven field ability without beginning from scratch. At this age, Brownie is focused, confident, and physically ready for real work in the field. A started GSP has moved past the puppy phase and already carries a solid foundation in both obedience and fieldwork, and Brownie is exactly that: bird‑driven, responsive, and eager to continue progressing. His bird introduction has been excellent—bold, stylish, and composed on birds, showing natural point and strong nose use. In the field, he hunts with purpose, checks in naturally, and works at a comfortable range, pairing high prey drive with the kind of biddability hunters appreciate. He’s been exposed to varied cover, gunfire, water, and age‑appropriate hunting scenarios, giving him a well‑rounded start in the field.
Brownie’s obedience and manners are equally reliable. His recall is clean on whistle and voice, his lead manners are calm and responsive, and he maintains a quiet, comfortable crate routine whether traveling or kenneled.
At 1.5 years old, his temperament is well‑formed—biddable, people‑oriented, eager to work, and quick to bond. Brownie thrives with structure and fits beautifully into both dedicated hunting homes and active families who appreciate a dog with drive and manners.
He is best suited for hunters wanting a dog with early development already in place, owners who value consistency and continued training, and anyone wanting a dog past the baby stage but still young enough to finish exactly how they prefer.
Brownie is ready to step into a home that values quality, structure, and a dog with the right start.
