Say Hello to Sonic ( aka SuperSonic ), if there was a pick of the litter, she’d be it. She’s bold, friendly and she’s fast. She’s the reason we had to add the third rail to our whelping box, which is not longer tall enough to contain her. Whelped 09/29/2025, currently about 8 weeks old.

All her care has been done by a local vet, dew claws removed, tail docked, worming, vaccinations, plus vet confirmed parasite free. This whole litter has been raised indoors with early crate exposure. Not fully housebroken yet, but already signaling when they need to go out. Puppies are well-socialized, bold, people-oriented puppies. Should be outstanding flushing dogs, with solid pedigree. They are Ideal prospect for hunting, guiding, or an active homes. Both parents are my personal dogs and come from well bred hunting and guiding stock. Rocket was raised by the legendary John Rex Gates, well known in the bird dog world and Jet, the dam, was bred by Ross Callaway of Caladen Kennels, she’s daughter of Caladen’s Dancing Bear.

Stella is a dynamic bird finder with outstanding game drive and beautiful pointing style. She has a smooth swift gait with medium range and a forward running ground pattern. She hits objectives thoroughly and is staunch on point and steady though the flush with a fast natural retrieve. She has a great temperament, is quiet and reserved in the kennel and very mature for her age. She is turning into an outstanding bird dog and will provide a lucky hunting family with many years of field and family companionship.
Her Dam: Rose exhibits all the traits of an exceptional bird dog. She has desire, boldness, independence, bird-finding ability, pointing style, and trainability. Rose is calm both in the kennel and at home, making her a joy to be around. She has been trained and hunted with various dogs and handlers, earning her AKC Junior Hunter title at 9 months of age under the guidance of Amy West. She is OFA Good. Stella was whelped here at the kennel and has been in training since a puppy with 6 to 7 days a week in the field. She’s developed an intense desire to seek and find game, point staunchly and has been exposed to various field scenarios and hunting situations. She is familiar with the gun, retrieves naturally, e-collar conditioned, whistle trained and socialized with other dogs and hunters. She is current on all vaccinations and heartworm. She is excited, eager and ready to hunt!

Our Bourbonnais are bred to hunt (feather and fur). We use ours mainly for grouse, pheasant, quail and chukar. In the field, the Bourbonnais generally have a closer range. Working deliberately and in conjunction with the foot hunter.

My puppies are whelped and raised IN our non-smoking home (the whelping box is actually in my bed room), not in a dog run/kennel. When the pups are ready for their permanent homes, they have already acquired some house manners. Due to the puppies being kept in a continuously CLEAN environment, potty training tends to come easily. With our puppies being raised in the home, socialization is inevitable.

The puppy health care program at Rufnit is superior. Each puppy has his/her tail docked, receive de-wormings (at 2, 4 and 6 weeks), their first shots and an ID microchip (at 6 weeks). I use the expertise of an independent licensed veterinarian to attest the health of my puppies. Each veterinarian visit (3 days, 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks) includes a thorough health exam, providing maximum health care.

By the time our pups are ready for their permanent homes, they have been exposed to several environments. In the home, the different sounds (phone, vacuum, canines, washer/dryer, voices) and constant socialization (children, adults, canines) play an invaluable part of training. The litters are introduced to the outdoors/field and water around four weeks of age (daily, weather permitting). At this time we also start potty/paper training the pups. As their comfort level rises on our outings, new things are introduced (distance, live quail/chukar/pigeons, blank pistol). Approximately six weeks of age, they are placed on dry food(Purina ProPlan Sport / All Life Stages / Sport / Performance) and we begin crate familiarization. Around eight weeks of age, the pups depart to their homes as well rounded companions.

She is a 3 year old well trained pointer on quail and prairie chickens. She very staunch on point and loves the gun fire on flush. She is a forced fetch trained retriever. Her breeding includes a strong Elhew background crossed with Rock Acre Black Hawk bloodlines. This stylist carries registrastion bloodlines from UKC.
