Wild Bird Finding: Kevin is a tremendous wild bird finder in hunting and in field trials. Besides that he is exceptionally honest and reliable. I can recall 3 separate field trial wins where his bracemate came in and flushed birds in front of Kevins point and he never moved out of his point or lost intensity.
Field Trial Record: Kevin has an exceptional record in comparatively limited field trialing. He has won in horseback handing field trials and in walking field trials on wild birds on the open prairie and in grouse and woodcock covers. Kevin has 16 field trial placements including 7 wins. His record includes 3X RU Champion on Wild Sharptail Grouse. His most recent was the Region 19 Shooting Dog Championship October 3-5-2020 where he had 5 coveys pointed in his hour long brace.
Personality - Kevin has a happy disposition and he loves affection. He is well adjusted, calm yet bold and confident. He is at ease in his crate or in the house where he is well behaved, great with little kids and other dogs.
Style and Range. Kevin demonstrates strong focus and drive and is very good at responding to commands and staying to the front. He looks stylish running and has a high cracking tail. He is intense on point and high on both ends.
Training and Composure - Kevin was the easiest dog I have ever trained for steady to wing and shot. He even maintains his intensity after the birds fly - an attribute he inherited from his sire, 2x National Champion Shadow Oak Bo. He is a natural retriever and loves it. Kevin also is a natural backer and backs with style and intensity.
Registration - Kevin is registered both AKC and American Field and has an impressive pedigree. His Dam is a multiple field trial winner and his sire is 2X National Champion Shadow Oak Bo.
