Craney Hill Kennel provides professional gun-dog training for all flushing breeds at our facility in Mitchell, Georgia. With 30+ years of experience, we develop confident, responsive hunting dogs through a proven process built on relationship, trust, skill, and purposeful repetition.
Our philosophy is simple: train the dog, teach the handler, and build a lasting partnership. Every dog is trained as an individual, with programs tailored to its ability, temperament, and the owner’s goals. We focus on creating reliable gun dogs that hunt within range, respond to quiet handling, remain composed under pressure, and transition comfortably from the field to the home.
Training programs include puppy and young-dog development, foundational and advanced gun-dog training, obedience, bird and gunfire introduction, quartering, steadiness to wing and shot, retrieving, professional delivery, handling, simple blind retrieves, and wild-bird experience. Specialized forced-fetch training is also available for dogs needing a more dependable retrieve.
In addition to developing dependable upland hunting companions, Craney Hill Kennel prepares spaniels for field trials and hunt tests. Whether your goal is opening day, advanced fieldwork, or competition, our focus is on building clarity, confidence, control, and natural ability.

We are a family owned and family run training facility. We offer obedience, potty, behavior modification, socialization and hunting retriever training. We are located in SE Georgia on 85 acres. Our pet obedience training program is 4-6 weeks of board and train. We offer started-finished hunting retrievers for sale based on availability. We also offer limited hunting retriever training. Hunting season is mostly spent in Arkansas and Missouri putting retrievers in real hunting conditions.
