The German Shorthaired Pointer can grow and reach 21 to 25 inches in height. It can weigh 45 to 70 pounds. The coat is waterproof with short and dense hair. As such, the dog can track and retrieve game in water.
When it comes to colors, the German Pointer comes in many colors and patterns. You have reddish-brown/liver, liver and white spotted, liver, white-spotted and ticked. Other colors and patterns include solid black, black and white with similar variations.
For a roan dog, the skin is blue/gray while for a white dog its pink. The coat has patches, covered with black hairs and white background. For others, they have a solid patch.
How to Properly Care for Your German Shorthaired Pointer
We recommend high-quality dry food with more protein and fat. Make sure the food is for the right age group of your dog. Feed your dog twice a day depending on its activity level. Always provide your dog with fresh water. Refill the dish once a day.
You must set up a crate with a padded blanket. Alternatively, we recommend a dog bed inside the crate. Clean the dogs fur and teeth. Dont forget to trim the nails and visit the vet regularly.
