Lanes Kennel in Statesboro, Ga has hunted and produced top level bird dogs for 40+ years. Breeding for the best qualities in hunting dogs, our dogs can cover ground with ease and desire. If you are looking for a dog with a great nose and strong hunting desire then we have the dogs for you. Pups and Started dogs available from time to time.

Ogeechee Kennels is home to the personal gundogs of Bob Lane. We have raised and trained birddogs since the early 1960s. In the early years we had mostly what we called meat dogs and in the 1980s we bought a daughter of CH. Hooks Bounty Hunter and really began concentrating on improving our dogs and hopefully the pointer breed. In the late 1990s we bought our first American Brittany to compliment the wider ranging pointer and found it to be a great fit for hunting.

Some of our pointers continue to have the genes of Guard Rail, Evolution, Fiddler, Millers Silver Bullet, Additions Go Boy to name a few, but in more recent years, we have added the likes of Honky Tonk Attitude, Rock Acre Blackhawk, Branscum Nickel, Elhew Sinbad, Island Grove Brute, Funseeker Rebel and others
Historically, Our Brittany bloodlines have been primarilly from Natl Ch. Nolans Last Bullet, Natl Amatuer Ch. Walkers Gunner, Rimardas Trademark, Hiproof Rum Runner, Beans Blaze, Diamond Hill Dan, Piney Run Sam and others.
But most recently, we are is the process of adding some younger and newer bloodlines to our kennel. The most current purchase was a direct daughter of recent National Champ, Roustabouts Flat. Also, we have added a very fine looking Male pup from the bloodlines Rimardas Trademark, NAGDC High Hopes Fly By Nite, HOF Smarteyes Joker, and NFC Shambos Dark Shadow.
We are very excited about these prospects and thank those that have allowed us to purchase them.
A couple of years ago, I was introduced to the flushing and retrieving breed the English Cocker. I quickly realized that this breed was a must to own by any serious bird hunter. I only use the cocker for retrieving purposes as I had rather walk up my own birds. As I dont break my birddogs steady to wing and shot, I break my cockers to heel, and I love the way this works. My lost bird count has almost been eliminated and your off to hunting another covey in a very short time.
We only breed our dogs maybe a couple of times during their life time and we dont bred during the hunting season.
