Waymaker English Setters are proven in the quail fields of southern Indiana. Only setters that prove themselves to be outstanding wild bird hunting dogs are ever bred. Never do we breed English Setters that win field trials but have not made it as wild bird hunting dogs. Waymaker English Setters are further proven in American Field Walking Shooting Dog Competition in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan. Waymaker Setters have an enviable record in these competitions, winning in all levels of competition including Open, Amateur, Shooting Dog, Derby, and Puppy events. We do not breed a lot of English Setter puppies but only breed the best, proven females. Waymaker English Setter Kennels is not a puppy mill. When we have puppies, they are sired by the best English Setter champions in the nation. We select the stud dog based not on what is popular, but instead on what characteristics and bloodlines best compliment the particular female being bred. The stud must exhibit the characteristics we deem important and must show that he has already produced excellent puppies in the past.
