By far, Gary has been the most knowledgeable GSP breeder Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Was fortunate to purchase a special pup off of Gary that he was originally planning to keep for himself. After a few conversations regarding my plans for the pup, he knew this girl would be right for me and allowed me to take her in.

Have owned her for just over 2 years now and shes been nothing but a complete joy. She spends 95% of her life as a house dog with us and our other GSP, who is 7 months older. Her temperament is stellar; she is great around the house, around visitors and around other dogs.

Like flipping a switch, she knows when to turn it on. This girl accels in everything from field trials, to wild bird hunting, to guided hunts. She has had more than 1,200 birds shot over her in just over 2 years and is a complete fireball in the field.

Her confirmation is that of a true female GSP, 55 pounds of muscle and drive. Her style and intensity in the field is top notch, and her manners around the house are great. She is complimented everywhere she goes.

If you are on the fence about buying a dog from Gary, please do not hesitate. Gary knows his stuff and only has the best interests of the breed and the purchaser in mind. Trust me when I say he will find out what your intentions are for the dog and will get the best pup lined up for you.

Just ordered our fourth GSP from Westwind Kennels

When it came time to bring another dog into our pack, there was no doubt that it would be another Westwind German Shorthair Pointer.

My family and I have had the fortune of hunting behind Westwind GSP dogs for more than 15 years. I am always amazed but never surprised with the way our dogs handle wild birds. The best part of hunting behind Gary’s dogs is their pack instincts. Their desire to keep the pack together allows us to hunt with little noise.

At home our hunting dogs become great house companions. Our Westwind dogs know their appropriate position in the family unit.

Even if I didn’t have a passion for bird hunting I would consider owning one of Gary’s dogs. If you are contemplating bringing a working dog into your lives I highly recommend giving Gary a call to talk family and dogs. You will not be disappointed!

Gary was great to work with. His knowledge of breeding, and obvious success, produces tremendous hunting dogs. Before I got my pup I was convinced that I had to see the pup before I bought him, but Gary changed my mind. Boy, am I glad he picked the pup for me based on my lifestyle and my type of hunting! Great instincts, drive,smart and not to mention, a true companion. Beautiful to watch in the field. I could not be happier !! You will not be disappointed.
