We are so happy with our experience working with Cheryl at Idaho Hunting Dogs. Every step of the process was very clear with communication, photos and then even a live stream once the pups were born. Our male pup is home now and settled, and he is such a great example of a German Shorthaired Pointer. He is not only beautiful to look at, but wicked smart and has great temperament. Cheryl socializes her hunting dogs so they are the best of both worlds. We would absolutely purchase a pup from her again.

Idaho Hunting Dogs hands down has a superior breeding program. Cheryl is amazing! Provides a ton of information, she has her process and program perfected. We got updates on mama as she got close and As soon as the puppies are born you are getting play by play about the liter and Mama with regular live video and tons of pictures. We couldnt have asked for a better experience. Cheryl has a ton of resources and connections as far as products and training. She made the AKC process so easy. As far as our dog, Goose is 2 years old and is absolutely amazing, he is so smart, has such a personality and right off the bat was so birdy and training him was honestly a breeze, its like he knew it already just needed to practice and train us haha! Would absolutely recommend Idaho Hunting Dogs, best GSPs out there!

Cheryl at Idaho Hunting Dogs is an excellent breeder, very knowledgeable and is easy to work with. We have purchased two dogs in the last five years and they were/are healthy, smart, and great tempered. The oldest (5 years) is very good around our grandchildren and visitors to our home. She is gentle and accepting to the newest puppy and is a great teacher. She is a very driven hunting dog, very manageable, and loves to retrieve. Our newest puppy (5 months) is already showing signs of becoming a great hunting dog and companion.

Cheryl with Idaho Hunting Dogs is wonderful to work with. Very knowledgeable and made herself readily available to answer all our questions and concerns during the time we were waiting for our pup. We have two GSPs from Cheryl. Our first we purchased as a pup and raised from 8 weeks on. The second was another one of her dogs that needed rehoming. We took this GSP in with her guidance and reassurance that if for some reason things didnt work out, she would always take her dogs back. Both of our girls are AMAZING and we couldnt imagine life without them. Cheryl produces quality dogs that come from strong lineage. I would recommend her dogs to anybody interested in a quality GSP. Hers are the BEST!

Cheryl Stephenson deserves more than 5 stars. Almost three years ago I was ready for a new pup. I called and spoke to Cheryl at length regarding GSP’s. I was impressed with her knowledge of the breed. But what impressed me the most, was her diligence to keep in communication with everyone that was involved with each litter, pre and post birth. The communication continued until each puppy went to their new homes and after. Being able to watch, via videos and photos, the puppies grow and see all of the work that goes into raising healthy and happy puppies, was amazing.
I highly recommend Cheryl as a reputable breeder.

I have known Cheryl for 9 years now and not only is she the best breeder I know, taking care of her puppies until the owner picks them up, but she continues to check in and help you even after you take your puppy home.

We have two of Cheryls puppies. Rocky (Fritz x Duchess) who will be 9 this year and Jiggs (this orange boy pictured -Roscoe x Meg) who will be a year in just a couple of weeks.

Cheryl has always just been a phone call away for any needs that have come up, questions and concerns. Her yard and home has always been clean and the puppies are so well cared for prior to going to their forever homes.

Cheryl takes lots of pictures and videos from the time they are born and also does live video feeds. Rocky and Jiggs are both phenomenal hunters and family dogs. A long as Cheryl is breeding Ill be buying from her.

Cheryl has been in business over 25 years and it shows in her passion for German Shorthair pointers and her professional business practices. She leaves no stones unturned when giving her clients the information needed when making the decision to add a GSP puppy to their family. Her dogs are top notch quality and she stands by her commitment to deliver the very best to each client. She retains the first right of refusal on all her pups and recently took back a 10 year old GSP from her kennel and placed her with a great family. Cheryl is very selective concerning new puppy clients and remains available to help with all stages of her GSP’s lives. I have known Cheryl of IDAHO HUNTING DOGS for almost 15 years now. She had been recommended as a quality breeder of German Shorthairs and I remain ever grateful that I met her. We have gotten 2 Shorthairs from her and I have learned so much about the breed from her as well.

I can attest to the fact that Cheryl has a quality breeding program, that the care her dogs receive is of the highest quality (from pups born in her kennel to her retured senior dogs) and that her dogs (and the pups that come from them) are not only good hunting dogs, but are also good family dogs.

Cheryl also maintains regular contact with those who purchase dogs from her (through phone calls, e-mails and the IDAHO HUNTING DOGS Facebook group). She loves following her dogs and is a quick resource for advice and recommendations should a new owner have any questions or concerns.
