Help !!!!!

Then he would drop the bird and either stand over it leave it entirely. I would be afraid that he would eat the next one so I put the E collar on him and it stopped him from running off. I realized he was a natural retriever and he wanted to parade around with the bird so I started using a throw dummy in my kennel field perimeter ( small in size about thirty feet long and ten feet wide. He soon learned to please me and receive a lot of praise when he brought it directly to me. Then that training transitioned quickly into the field. Since then I used the same technique with his litter mate that I knew ahead of the training that I should not allow him to get in the field before I did the necessary training in my kennel with his retrieve. The problem of running off and or eating the bird never happened because he was conditioned properly before the actual hunt. Hope this was helpful. I too had to learn the technique before the problems ever became just that.
