Shadow Oak Bo offsping

We all know Bo that 2 time national champ setter. I have seen pups for sale from him but my question is....... Does he reproduce himself. IMO there are a lot of great bird dogs out there that just dont reproduce great dogs. In the setter world we have seen some dogs that show up in a lot of pedigrees because they were not just champions they reproduced champions. Sunrise, Performer, Mosely, Grouse Ridge, to name a few, and I could go on. SO will we start seeing Bo in many pedigrees of champions to come? Does anyone have experience hunting or trialing with a Bo offspring?

Ive got a couple of young male dogs out of Bo. Mother is a daughter of Hitest. Got them from John Rexx at his kennel. They were pretty young for this bird season but got to go a lot and see lots of wild birds in big country. By the end of the season (mid Feb) they were really tearing up the country, and puttin birds in the air. Even pointed a few coveys. Decent natural back, but I think I got them over that :). Good noses, super style. Super nice running style. They are great derby prospects, I expect theyll win some. Looking to do mostly wild bird trials, horseback stuff. So far I really like these young dogs. I will be headed for SD this sept to run on sharps then to montana for sharps and huns then Okla and Tx on quail. By next Feb I will know if I still like them.

Probably late to reply and I am new to the group but I have several Shadow Oak Bo offspring and I could not be more pleased. Dogs know how to run, find birds and are very biddable and do a great job knowing where I am. I have a litter advertised on here from one of my females crossed with a Gridiron x Skytest dog and I expect great things from this litter.

Im in the same boat Larry. I have a shodow oak Bo offspring and shes a great little bird hunter.

Ive paired her with my Ryman/Old Hemlock setter and they make a pretty good team in the field.

I think its preference but i prefer the Ryman/Old Hemlock setters. hes almost twice here size but he moves through thick grouse cover likes hes less than a 1/4 of her size. I do a lot of bird hunting and both types are good, she runs circles around him but suffered a bit through the tough cover.

I got her a year old and I dont think she had much human contact though. It really put me off for the whole field trialing world, all the guy selling me the dog would say look at all the trophies and ribbons I won. I digress.
