Porcupines

I have been hunting in Michigan for the past 4 years in a row and every time I make a trip up at least one of my dogs gets into a Porcupine. I am running German Shorthairs, Pointers and Setters. I live in Southern Indiana and we dont have them here. Any ideas on how to break my dogs? I have been told to find some road kill and with the help of an E-Collar I could walk them in on it and light them up. Seeing how we dont have them where I live that would be difficult. Just looking for helpful tips.
