I can’t say I know what a squat looks like, but I have seen dogs crouch in a cat like stalking pose, point in the normal way, and sit on occasions but that is usually pups looking on curiously. In play I have seen dogs on their bellies like a predator playing hide n seek in the grass as the others approach, so I guess Squatter needs to be described in some detail of form.

I remember reading some old lititure from around the 1800s, that the pointer was bred with a setter and that produces a squatter, and I also read that when netting was the flavor of the time that dogs crouched as to avoid the net when cast over the birds they pointed…but to say any of the above is Squatting , beats me.

So I dread this as the results will most definitely be disrupting but its time to jerk out the old google search and type in the term Pointing dogs Squater, I am sure I can predict the images that will produces.
