We know there are many breeders to choose from, however, we are a little different. We strive to offer you the happiest, healthiest companion possible by several ways including health screening, socialization, excellent veterinary care, and getting you off to a great start with a puppy care package. Before we breed, we perform critical health screenings. Both our sire and dam must be friendly, have an OFA and/or Penn Hip for healthy hips, have a veterinary ophthalmologist clearance to check for hereditary eye disease (CERF/OFA), we test DNA, they are clear on both alleles for the testing of hereditary disease such as Exercise Induced Collapse Syndrome (also known as hereditary epilepsy) and Centro-nuclear Myopathy ( a debilitating neurological disease)- meaning they do not carry nor have these diseases, they possess a low coefficient of inbreeding (a low COI has been shown to allow a better chance to live a longer, healthier life), the dam has also been tested and is clear for PRA (a hereditary form of blindness), the dam has a cardiologist cardiac clearance from hereditary heart disease. To top it off, we look for as many of these clearances in the pedigree as possible. No dog is perfect, but we do the best we can. Our puppies are no couch potatoes, in the past, they have been successful field dogs with natural abilities, service dogs, highly accomplished dock dogs including world champions, starred in TV and magazine commercials and in baseball games as bat boy, compete in agility, flyball, coursing, plus much more and are family companions. Our current litter is sired by a FC AFC Marauders Aviator, a handsome and highly successful field dog wbo is driven, reliable, and dependable, with a long history of top performance, as well as a family companion. Our litters dam, HFRS Hunter Dakota of Icicle Creek, is extremely motivated, has a positive attitude, and is a highly affectionate family companion of strong filed lines including her granddaughter, Rebel w a Cause, plus she is the daughter of Rebels Hunter of Wasatch National Dock Dogs Elite who retrieved over 1100 birds in one season as the lead guide dog, both parents are from a long line of famous field dogs with the Retriever Field Dog Hall of Fame packed in their pedigree. When we have a litter of lab puppies, we raise them inside our warm friendly home, they are gently held by experienced children and adult puppy holders for neurological stimulation and socialization, receive a thorough veterinary check up prior to going home, are veterinarian vaccinated, wormed according to CDC guidelines, veterinarian micro-chipped, and the veterinarian removes the dewclaws. Each new puppy owner receives a puppy care kit that includes a puppy care book and/or puppy care DVD, a heritage pack with pictures and history of the famous and well accomplished dogs in the pedigree, AKC registration, copies of all veterinary records, quality puppy food, a bowl, appropriate toys, plus more to get each new owner off to a great start.
